Update: Budget Cuts: To cut or not to cut

We're at the defining moment right now: one day to go before defense and domestic programs feel a pinch in their budgets. The Republicans have offered a deal, one that would include $85 billion dollars in cuts placed in President Obama's control.

Believe it or not, the Democrats and The president are resisting the deal. They believe the Republicans are up to something.

The proposal was spearheaded by Senators Toomey and Inholfe and is being passionately contested, even by Democrats who are against the president having so much control.

The debate is expected to carry on through March, so it's still too early to predict how this will all play out. So I will be ignoring the doomsday predictions circulating the media. Because everyone knows our politicians never fail us. They merely enjoy the nail biting drama.
