Developing Apps to Protect Women

Women in the news. Not anyone specific, just us collectively, together, working alone or with our male peers to build a better future for ourselves and our daughters. Of course, we're bringing our boys along because change can't have any real substance unless we get our brothers, sons, and life partners on board. 

In Nepal, the World Bank was hosting a Hackathon contest among the uncertainty and political problems there. Four young Nepalese women developed a prototype Android app that would allow women to signal for help when in danger. The app was submitted along with many others as part of this contest, which aims to develop tech based tools for women who find themselves in domestic or sexual abuse confrontations. With just one click, a woman has a very high potential of either saving her life or escaping a terrible violation. Read more here:
